You Deserve Healing From The Inside Out

Therapy That Fits Your Needs

  • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. This is a highly effective research based treatment for trauma and attachment wounds. EMDR is a type of therapy that enables people to heal from the trauma and emotional distress resulting from disturbing life experiences. It is widely assumed that severe emotional pain requires a long time to heal. However, repeated studies show that by engaging in EMDR, people can experience the benefits of psychotherapy that once took years to occur. EMDR therapy shows that the mind can in fact heal from psychological trauma as much as the body recovers from physical trauma and does not have to take years to be effective.

    • What is EMDR: EMDR is an evidence-based practice initially developed by Francine Shapiro in 1987, as an intervention to overcome the psychologically devastating effects of trauma and stress. EMDR uses a set of procedures to organize negative and positive emotions, sensations, and thoughts, then uses bilateral stimulation such as eye movements or alternating topping as a way to help clients effectively work through disturbing memories and experiences. Because EMDR incorporates bilateral stimulation, people are able to process through their issues much more quickly and effectively than traditional talk therapy. EMDR therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and stress related wounds.

    • EMDR can be used as a stand-alone treatment, or in conjunction with other treatment interventions and modalities.

    • If you are looking to move quickly through EMDR trauma therapy, I also offer EMDR+NSI intensives to accelerate the healing process. I truly believe that EMDR will help you to heal from painful past experiences and can release you from the grip of traumatic memories. See below for more information on EMDR Intensives.

  • NSI aims at creating lasting change.

As a certified Neuro Somatic Intelligence (NSI) practitioner, I offer NSI specific treatment to individuals wanting to target healing, strengthening and supporting their nervous system, as well as discovering new ways to support emotional, mental, physical, and social health. NSI focuses on "the intentional and repetitive activation of specific brain structures, neurological pathways, sensory input systems, via Neuro targeted exercises with a specific goal of decreasing pain and increasing performance. It is a noninvasive way to train the nervous system for optimal performance by utilizing neural plasticity, which is the brains ability to change and adapt." It is AMAZING and most clients see immediate results. This treatment approach can help with the following:

    • Depression, Anxiety, Complex Trauma, Grief and Loss, Guilt and Shame, Emotional Dysregulation

    • ADHD, Autism, ODD, Behavioral Challenges/ODD and other Neurodiverse Needs

    • Athletic Performance as well as and overall Performance

  • Somatic therapy can help you develop an understanding for the stress response system including the autonomic nervous system ANS, the resiliency zone, and the mind body connection. Befriending your nervous system by gaining a deeper appreciation of protective responses of the ANS, and differentiating personal and relational integration vs disconnection can help one learn how to find presence with self, thus coming back to the body and back to wholeness. This also helps us find ways to access and increase social engagement in a meaningful manner. If find that integrating the biological somatic models of Trauma Resilience Model (TRM), PolyVagal, and Neuro Somatic Intelligence (NSI) helps individuals achieve greater attunement with self, increased resilience, and improves overall life wellness.

The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is a practical application of Polyvagal Theory, designed to reduce sound sensitivities and improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation, and social engagement behaviors through specially-filtered music. (This is an add-on service that is not covered by insurance).

  • Combining the strengths of Emotionally Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method, EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing to foster deep healing, strengthen relationships, and create lasting nervous system regulation.

Each of these models have one thing in common, Attachment. When we understand the role of attachment as well as the functions and shift of our biological systems, it is easier to identify maladaptive patterns other wise know as the couples "dance." The goal is to help couples deepen the relationship by repairing and then strengthening emotional connection and attachment related needs. I work to build trust with each of partner in the relationship and then challenge each to identify and change the patterns that fuel the cycle of hurt, blame, defensiveness and fighting. These are the maladaptive and oftentimes very protective patterns that leave couples feeling disconnected. Once couples can see and change the steps in their unique dance patterns, the focus includes on helping you build a sense of safety and security in the relationship.

  • Anyone that knows me knows that I love to share the information that I am learning and have found it to be of great value in my own life. Thus, REDEFINED WELLNESS came from a deep desire to share somatic wellness information as well as tangible skills with larger groups.

REDEFINED WELLNESS is an integrated restorative wellness model that I have developed to share with others. It is geared towards a group or community approach with hopes of helping others learn to expand resilience with self and deepen connection with others. Through a combined Polyvagal, attachment, and Community Resilience lens, the this model seeks to help participants foster and appreciation for biological response to stress while exploring anchors of hope. This facilitates the cultivation a life trajectory to build upon, look forward to, and rest within.

I offer workshops in person or virtually and each workshop can be tailored to specific needs and populations. Education, First Responders, HealthCare, Inpatient/Outpatient Treatment .

If you are interested in participating in a workshop, or would me to host a workshop at your agency, please reach out to me.

To achieve a lasting loving bond, we have to be able to tune into our deepest needs and longings and translate them into clear signals that help our lovers respond to us. We have to be able to accept love and reciprocate..” Sue Johnson
